This memorial comprises a foliated stone cross with cusped arms raised on a tapered octagonal shaft mounted on a square pedestal with canted corners and a plinth, surrounded by a low concrete wall. The war memorial is located on a small grassed area which is triangular in shape, one side of which is Ashby Road, Coleorton.
In 2018 this war memorial received a grant of £600 towards conservation works from War Memorials Trust. The memorial was cleaned using a steam cleaning system.
This memorial was paid for from voluntary contributions of parishioners, and the trustees of the fund commissioned Messrs. R. Bridgeman & Sons of Lichfield to design and construct the war memorial. The memorial was erected during the summer of 1922 in readiness for the unveiling ceremony on Sunday 17th September 1922. Additional inscriptions were added following World War II for the fallen in this conflict. Around 1970 the war memorial was re-located from its original location to its current location, as it was damaged by vehicles.
The inscription reads:
In Memory of/ the Men of This Place/ Who Fell In/ The Great Wars/ 1914-1918/ And/ 1939-1945/ (Names)/ Their Name Liveth For Evermore
